Frequently Asked Festival Questions
Can I wait and buy tickets at the gate? Will you for sure still have tickets?
Maybe, maybe not. We are carefully monitoring our bloom count, presale tickets, and parking situation. We want to ensure a good experience for all who visit our farm. Should we “sell-out” of our presale tickets, we would only allow people riding in the vehicle with a presale ticket holder to purchase tickets at the gate. That would make sure all who purchased ahead had a place to park, and their pre-paid flowers from our farm. We will announce within the event, on our farm page, and on our FB page. if and when a particular festival date has “SOLD OUT”.
If I buy a presale ticket, what if my family/ kids cannot get in?
If you are a presale ticket holder, any companions/ kids in your vehicle WILL able to purchase tickets at the gate and enter.
What if it rains?
Our event will be held rain or shine. However, if the weather is not to your liking, or if you are not able to attend after purchasing a presale tickets for any reason, we plan to offer other bouquet pick-up times after each festival date so that you could still come and receive flowers at different time. We have a commercial floral cooler on our property, so blooms can be held for a week or so and remain in great condition. Please reach out with a message if you find yourself unable to come, but still want your flowers.
Will there be rows and rows of bushy, open blooms?
We are a working Peony Farm. This means, bloom are harvested just before they open, (Ideally in the “Marshmallow” phase.) This gives them their longest vase life and makes them ideal to store until sold. This year, visitors will experience our commercial patch 660 plants in total, which are actively being harvested. (The cover photo of the event is the perfect visual of what to expect. It was taken here in our field last year.) In the future, we hope to plant a show garden with our 11 varieties and more peony varieties. We have high hopes of adding this area to allow visitors an additional “In Bloom” experience in the future.
Can I have a professional photographer come with me?
We ask that all visitors respect one another’s experience and time in the peony field. There will be several photo opportunities set up around the farm, for brief use and “taking turns.” If you wish for an extended photo-session or time block, with the farm to yourself, please message us to set up a non-festival time. Also, our friend Meredith at @lavendarandmintphotography is actively scheduling sessions here this spring. We encourage you to reach out to her to schedule her service on a non-festival day.
Will you for sure have You-Pick?
UPDATED 5-23-24. All flowers have been pre-harvested and prepared for an epic PEONY BOUQUET BAR featuring all of our 11 varieties at the Festival. There will not be You-Pick at the festival this year due to a very early spring. Nothing is for sure with farming. Peonies are very weather dependent. This part of the festival was at the mercy of mother nature. We have some new ideas in place to ensure more you-pick opportunities next year.
Can I bring my pet?
Part of your festival experience will include a small petting zoo. For the safety of all furry friends, no pets please. Service animals on a leash are welcomed.
Where is your farm? I’ve never seen this from the road?
We are located down a gravel lane on Chippewa Road, between Smucker Road and Five Points Road. There will be ample signage on Chippewa road to direct you on festival day. Please respect all of our neighbors lanes/land/lawns We share our neighborhood with families and other farming operations. Should we utilize overflow parking, please follow the directions of our parking staff.
Is this wheelchair/ stroller accessible?
Almost all of the event will be in grassy areas. There is some pavement and sidewalk. The area is perfect for a jogging stroller or wheelchair suited for grass. Please communicate your parking need to our parking attendants when you arrive.
